Love, Loss, and What I Wore

Proving that a great show is always in fashion, Love, Loss, and What I Wore is an internationally acclaimed hit. With its compulsively entertaining subject matter, this intimate collection of stories by Nora Ephron (When Harry Met Sally..., Sleepless in Seattle, You’ve Got Mail) and Delia Ephron (Michael, You’ve Got Mail, The Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants) celebrated an accomplished two-and-a-half year run in New York and has been an audience favourite ever since.

Love, Loss, and What I Wore is based on the best-selling book by Ilene Beckerman as well as the recollections of the Ephrons’ friends. The show uses clothing and accessories and the memories they trigger to tell funny and poignant stories that all women can relate to, creating one of the most enduring theatregoing experiences to be found anywhere.

Love, Loss and What I Wore was the inaugural production of The Women's Company and was presented in Regina, Saskatchewan as part of the Regina International Fringe Theatre Festival (July 2-8, 2017). This production differed from most by embracing a rich rainbow coloured design and featuring six actors instead of the traditional five. In 2018, the production toured to several Fringe festivals across Canada including the Regina International Fringe Theatre Festival (July 11-15, 2018), the Hamilton Fringe Festival (July 19-29th, 2018), and the Edmonton International Fringe™ Theatre Festival (August 16-26, 2018).

This production was nominated for eight BroadwayWorld Regional Awards for the run at the Edmonton Fringe™ Festival, these included Best Actress in a Musical or Play nominations for Gabrielle Dufresne, Erin Johansen, Jane Neumier, Robyn Sanderson, and Angeline Lypka. It went on to win three awards including Best Play and Best Touring Show for the company, and Best Costume Design for Carson Walliser.

Meet the Team

Abbey Thiessen

Abbey Thiessen is a Saskatchewan based actor with BFA in acting from the University of Regina. She has been seen in The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance and workshopping a new play, Discharged, with the Saskatchewan Playwrights Centre. She is passionate, creative, headstrong, loves coffee, food, books and jumping in puddles.
Jane Neumier

Jane attended the theatre program at the University of Regina, acting in many of their productions, before beginning to train at George Brown College's Theatre School in Toronto. She will be starting her second year there this fall. She hopes you enjoy laughing along with the relatable experiences of womanhood in the show!
Angeline Lypka

Angeline Lypka grew up in Yorkton, Saskatchewan, where she was an avid member of Free My Muse Theatre Company, and her high school’s drama club. After attaining a certificate in Business Management and Entrepreneurship at Algonquin College in Ottawa, she is now working to complete the Criminology and Addictions program at the University of Saskatchewan.
Robyn Sanderson

Robyn Sanderson is a Regina based theatre artist. She has her BFA from the University of Regina, and is a graduate from the Globe Theatre Conservatory. She was recently seen in The Globe Theatre's production of The Last Wife, and onscreen in The Tinwife. She is so happy to be back with this amazing ensemble and to venture out on the road with this beautiful show that has won a place in her heart.
Gabrielle Dufresne

Gabrielle is a Regina-based actor and theatre-maker. She holds a BFA in Theatre (Acting) from the U of R, and her Masters from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. Gabrielle is a proud co-founder of ShoulderBirds Productions. When she is not onstage, she facilitates French theatre workshops across the Saskatchewan with La Troupe du Jour, makes jewelry, or is working on her next devised project.
Erin Johansen

Erin is a fourth year acting student at the University of Regina. She has been involved in many productions at the university including ReMeasure, Spring’s Awakening, The King Stag, and Philistines (a co-production with Rose Bruford). Erin is incredibly excited to share the work of so many talented women with you all!
Landon Walliser

Landon Walliser is an alumni of the U of R Theatre Department with a BA in Theatre. His previous credits include: New Canadian Kid (Director, Regina Children’s Fringe), Philistines (Assistant Director, University of Regina & Rose Bruford College), Small Boy Dreams (Publicity, Curtain Razors & National Tour), and Young Frankenstein: The Musical (Assistant Director, Prairie Skies Musical Theatre).
Carson Walliser

Carson Walliser graduated from the University of Regina’s Theatre Department this April with a degree in Acting. This is his eleventh show as a costume designer. The highlights of this last year have been venturing to New York to audition at Yale, Juilliard, and NYU, as well as being considered for NYU’s MFA costume design program. Carson is heading to Grant Macewan University in the fall for their musical theatre program. This show has been one of his favourites and he is very honoured to have dressed this cast of amazing women.
